Who we are
playcultured™ (“we”, “us”) runs an invitation-only, 10-week cognitive-performance coaching program for footballers, delivered remotely and led by Mateo Salazar. We decide what personal information the program needs and how it’s used, which makes us responsible for it.
This policy covers playcultured.com, the onboarding questionnaire, the personality assessment, the player portal at idp.playcultured.com, the Self-Analysis Tool at playcultured.com/tagger, and the coaching itself. Questions: mateo@playcultured.com.
02
What we collect
Only what the program needs, at the point it needs it.
Applying. Player or parent name, contact email, and current environment (academy, club, position) — the three fields on the application form.
Onboarding questionnaire. Name, age, positions, dominant foot, height and weight, level and team, details of any upcoming trial or opportunity, links to match film, and your written reflections and playing-conditions answers.
Personality assessment. Your name and your answers to 32 statements about how you prepare, read the game, decide and like to be organized, plus the profile that results.
Your Individual Development Plan (IDP). The plan we build from your answers, film and coaching: your profile, positional abilities, decision analysis and action priorities. Your personal access code is stored only as a one-way hash, so we can’t read it back.
Coaching. Session notes, film we analyze with you, and anything you send us by message, email or call.
Equipment delivery. If we ship you a headset or other equipment, the delivery name, address and phone number needed to get it to you.
Automatic data. Basic, anonymous site analytics: pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate country. No cookies and no persistent identifier, so we can’t tell which visitor is you.
We don’t take payment details through this website, and we don’t collect precise location, contacts or social-media logins.
03
Why we use it
We use your information to:
review applications and decide who we can work with;
build your IDP, and prepare and run your coaching sessions;
calculate and return your personality profile;
keep the player portal and our systems secure;
improve the program, using aggregated or de-identified results; and
meet legal obligations and protect young people from harm.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: taking steps to enter into and performing your coaching agreement; your consent (or your guardian’s, for players under 18), which you can withdraw at any time; and our legitimate interests in running and securing the program.
We don’t sell personal information, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects. Your personality profile is a coaching tool, not a psychological assessment.
We may use AI-assisted software to help prepare analysis and format documents. A member of our coaching team reviews every plan before it reaches you.
04
Players under 18
Most of our players are young, so this matters. A parent or guardian must review this policy and agree to a player’s participation before a player under 18 takes part.
We don’t knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If you’re a guardian and think we’ve collected information without your consent, email us and we’ll delete it.
Guardians can ask to see what we hold about their child, correct it, delete it, or stop us collecting more — at any time.
We collect only what the program reasonably needs, and we never make participation depend on handing over more than that.
We don’t share a young player’s information for advertising, marketing or analytics, and we don’t send it to clubs, academies, agents or scouts unless the player and their guardian ask us to.
06
Cookies, storage and analytics
We don’t use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics on playcultured.com. Our analytics (Framer’s built-in tool) is cookieless and anonymous, so there’s no cookie banner to click through.
Strictly necessary storage. To remember that you’ve unlocked the player area, your browser keeps a small flag for the length of your visit; it’s cleared when you close the tab. The player portal issues a session token that expires after two hours.
Embedded Google forms. The onboarding questionnaire and personality assessment are served by Google Apps Script. Google may set its own cookies inside those frames, under Google’s privacy policy.
Self-Analysis Tool. The Self-Analysis Tool at playcultured.com/tagger runs entirely in your browser. Match video is never uploaded to us, and your tags, clip reviews and the fact that you have unlocked it are saved on your own device until you clear your browser data. To build tapes, the page loads open-source video software from jsDelivr, a content delivery network that sees your IP address like any website you visit.
If any of this changes, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
07
How long we keep it
Applications we don’t take forward: deleted within 6 months.
Players in the program: onboarding answers, assessment results, film notes and your IDP are kept for the program and 12 months after it ends, so we can keep supporting you — then deleted or anonymized.
Access codes: deactivated when your access ends.
Deletion requests: actioned within 30 days. Copies in backups are purged on their normal cycle.
If the law requires us to keep something longer, we’ll tell you.
08
How we protect it
playcultured.com and idp.playcultured.com are served over HTTPS.
Personal access codes are stored only as one-way hashes, and portal sessions expire after two hours.
Response data sits in private Google Sheets that only the coaching team can open.
Your IDP PDF is generated in your own browser when you download it, not on our servers.
No system is perfectly secure. If you think your access code or information has been misused, tell us right away. If a breach affects you, we’ll notify you and, where required, the relevant authority.
09
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you (or a guardian on your behalf) can ask us to:
give you a copy of your information;
correct anything that’s wrong;
delete it;
restrict or object to how we use it;
move it to another service; or
stop relying on your consent, if that’s our basis.
Email mateo@playcultured.com. We may need to confirm who you are (and, for a young player, that you’re their guardian). We aim to answer within 30 days. If you’re in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data-protection authority. We don’t sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are used in California law.
10
International transfers
Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires safeguards for those transfers, we choose providers that offer them, such as standard contractual clauses.
11
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. For material changes, we’ll email enrolled players and guardians before they take effect.
